Accenture is seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Developer to design, code, and enhance custom software solutions. This role focuses on building AI-native, HANA-optimized SAP applications and extensions by integrating deep ABAP on HANA engineering with agentic AI patterns. You will deliver high-performance, cloud-ready, production-grade solutions using HANA pushdown principles, modern ABAP, and governed AI capabilities. Your work will involve reasoning, retrieving context, and assisting within enterprise SAP workflows, without the need to train foundation models from scratch.
**Core Responsibilities:**
- **ABAP on HANA Engineering:** Develop ABAP solutions optimized for SAP HANA using pushdown principles, building efficient data models with CDS views, and implementing performance-critical logic using AMDP/SQLScript.
- **Modern ABAP Development:** Create modular, testable, and maintainable ABAP code aligned with clean architecture practices. Build stable and versioned services and APIs using modern paradigms like OData.
- **Data Modeling & Semantic Enablement:** Model enterprise business entities using CDS semantics to support transactional and analytical consumption, designing reusable data artifacts.
- **AI Native SAP Capabilities:** Build AI-enabled SAP experiences by integrating ABAP services with LLM capabilities, including tool calling, retrieval-grounded outputs, and deterministic fallbacks.
- **Quality Engineering & Evaluation:** Develop automated tests for ABAP services and data artifacts. Establish evaluation harnesses for AI behaviors and implement guardrails for AI outputs.
- **Observability & Reliability:** Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces for production support. Design robust error handling and support incident response.
- **Integration & End-to-End Delivery:** Integrate ABAP on HANA services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solution correctness and performance.
