Senior Enterprise Cloud Automation Engineer

Wolters Kluwer India Private Limited is seeking a Senior Enterprise Cloud Automation Engineer for our Enterprise Systems Software Engineering Team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In this hands-on role, you will be instrumental in designing, deploying, supporting, and integrating the next generation of Enhanced Monitoring Observability cloud applications. You'll collaborate closely with Architecture, Networking, Global Hosting, Cloud Operations, GIS Security, Compliance, and Product Development teams to ensure applications are built with resilience, security, and scalability in mind, adhering to all standards. This position is key to driving automation across Enterprise Cloud infrastructure as part of our DevSecOps portfolio.

You will leverage your deep experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), production-grade automation, cross-cloud resiliency, and operational excellence to automate manual activities and enhance existing processes. Your responsibilities will include championing the development of reusable solutions and templates, taking advantage of advanced cloud monitoring capabilities. You will also implement and support AIOps systems, develop plugins for monitoring solutions, containerize applications, and implement full-stack monitoring to ensure telemetry for infrastructure, cloud platforms, OS, and applications. Continuous improvement of time-to-market for products and releases through innovative automation solutions will be a core focus. You will contribute to architectural standards, prepare technical documentation, explore new technologies, and assist in complex production troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities include:

• **IaC Development & Automation:** Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules using Terraform, ARM, Bicep, CloudFormation, and Ansible for multi-cloud environments. Build reusable Azure DevOps pipelines integrated with YAML-based deployment patterns.
• **Disaster Recovery & AIOps Engineering:** Lead the technical design and implementation of automated Disaster Recovery (DR) pipelines, including failover/failback strategies across AWS and Azure. Implement infrastructure workflows for AIOps, enabling automated trend analysis, load balancer control, firewall posture tracking, and vulnerability remediation.
• **Production Reliability & Incident Support:** Act as a Tier-4 engineering escalation point for complex production incidents, performing root cause analysis and developing recovery automation. Develop self-healing mechanisms and monitoring enhancements using cloud-native tools (AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor) and handle complex production incidents with composure.
• **Security & Compliance Integration:** Support infrastructure compliance with frameworks like NIST, SOC2, and PCI-DSS by embedding automated posture checks and remediation into CI/CD processes. Participate in vulnerability reviews and remediation rollouts.
• **Collaboration & Documentation:** Collaborate with product owners, QA, business analysts, and application teams to translate requirements into automated infrastructure solutions. Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation workflows and standards.

Required skills include proficiency in Java, Python, CI/CD with Azure DevOps, Git/GitHub, IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation), Bash/Powershell scripting, and experience with Kubernetes, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Grafana/Kibana, AWS, and Azure. You should possess strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive ownership and delivery-first mindset.
