Barclays is seeking a skilled Mainframe Software Engineer to join our Pune team. In this role, you will be instrumental in evolving our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will leverage core mainframe technologies to build and manage robust, scalable, and secure solutions, ensuring the seamless delivery of our digital offerings. Your responsibilities will include application design, development, and technical leadership. You will utilize your deep expertise in COBOL, JCL, IMS/DB/DC, DB2, VSAM, CICS, TWS, Stored Procedures, and REXX. A strong understanding of mainframe engineering, including debugging, performance optimization, and change management tooling (e.g., Endevor), is essential. Extensive HOGAN development experience (minimum 4 years) is mandatory. Experience with Mainframe Modernization and API enablement, including z/OS Connect, is highly valued. You will provide technical oversight, review solution quality, guide large-scale implementations, and unblock delivery teams. We are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of performance engineering and production stability. Experience with HOGAN CAMS II, mainframe DevOps practices, automation, and next-generation engineering within mainframe environments is beneficial. Familiarity with the banking/financial services domain is a plus. This role is based in Pune, Maharashtra.
