6sense is seeking a highly experienced Staff Backend Software Engineer to be a technical leader within our engineering teams. This role is for a backend expert who excels at solving complex challenges, mentoring others, and shaping architecture. You will act as a force multiplier, independently driving technical direction and collaborating with engineers and product teams to elevate our engineering standards. Your contributions will focus on enhancing the performance, reliability, and scalability of our Conversational Email (CE) platform. Responsibilities include leading the design of major backend systems, addressing cross-cutting concerns across multiple teams, resolving critical production issues and security vulnerabilities, and contributing to significant platform-wide improvements. You will also mentor engineers, drive documentation and performance profiling practices, and partner with leadership to influence the technical roadmap. We are looking for 8+ years of backend engineering experience, deep expertise in designing complex distributed systems, and strong proficiency in Python, Ruby, and AWS. Excellent system design, architecture, debugging, and communication skills are essential. Experience with SingleStore, email deliverability systems, or large-scale platform architecture is a plus.
