Wolters Kluwer India Private Limited is seeking a Senior SAP ABAP Developer for our Chennai, Tamil Nadu office. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and maintain SAP programs and integrations with external applications. You will contribute to technical designs, create specifications, and lead the development of various SAP components. Responsibilities include generating and executing unit tests, defining SAP coding standards, and demonstrating expertise in ABAP development (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms). A strong understanding of User Exits, BADIs, BAPIs, IDocs, Web Services, and LSMW is essential. You will proactively address the evolving needs of WK STEP SAP systems and provide regular status updates to management. This position requires leadership in technical designs, problem-solving, and the application of innovative solutions. You will ensure the integrity and quality of development processes, coordinate work efforts, and analyze variances between designs and actual operations. A key aspect of this role is developing code according to technical designs and WK Standards, planning and executing design, coding, and unit test cases. You will be involved in creating, modifying, and enhancing SAP functionality and interfaces, including function modules, reports, data load programs, custom tables, custom transactions, user exits, enhancements, BAdIs, BTEs, BAPI function modules, Web Services, and Proxy interfaces. Collaboration with SAP Basis and Support teams for issue resolution, OSS Note process, and upgrades is expected. You will debug and solve programming-related problems, create and execute unit test scripts, and document code. This role also involves promoting the proper use of SAP tools for code transfer across the landscape and identifying/implementing corrective solutions. Mentoring other team members and fostering collaboration to achieve departmental and project goals are important. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and 4-5+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in SAP ABAP development, is required. Experience leading SAP design and development for projects and mentoring other SAP Software Engineers is preferred. Expertise in Object Oriented Design and hands-on experience with FIORI and UI5 are mandatory. Excellent time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills are crucial.
