We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Kora team, responsible for the core coordination layer of our cloud data platform. This critical component ensures large fleets of consumers and transactional workloads remain balanced, fault-tolerant, and predictable. You will work on a transition from broker-embedded coordination to a standalone, cloud-native service, tackling complex challenges at the intersection of distributed systems, storage, and cloud operations. Your work will involve designing replicated state machines, managing high-volume, low-latency traffic, ensuring graceful failure handling, and achieving strict reliability and performance requirements across multiple regions and tenants. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and implement high-scale, low-latency features, own complex projects end-to-end from requirements to production-ready delivery, and lead reliability and operational improvements for core services. You will also raise the technical bar through design documents, code reviews, and mentorship, and collaborate cross-functionally to balance reliability, cost, and customer impact. Contributing to operational excellence through improved runbooks, debugging workflows, tooling, and automation will also be a key part of your role. Ideal candidates have experience with high-throughput data infrastructure, streaming systems, or large-scale platform services, and have experience with migration projects.
