Accenture is seeking a skilled Cobol Mainframe Software Engineer to join our team in Pune, Maharashtra. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing custom software solutions. You will design, code, and improve components across various systems and applications, leveraging your expertise in modern frameworks and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs.
A typical day involves collaborating with team members to understand project requirements, developing application features, and ensuring smooth and efficient application performance. You'll actively participate in problem-solving discussions, contribute innovative ideas to enhance application performance and user experience, and be expected to work independently and become a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Key responsibilities include contributing to team discussions, providing solutions to technical challenges, assisting in the documentation of application processes and workflows, and engaging in code reviews to maintain quality and adherence to best practices.
**Must-Have Skills:** * Proficiency in Cobol Mainframe * Minimum 3 years of experience in Cobol Mainframe
**Good-to-Have Skills:** * Experience with application development frameworks
**Technical Proficiencies:** * Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies * Familiarity with database management systems and data manipulation * Experience in debugging and troubleshooting application issues
**Educational Qualification:** 15 years of full-time education required.
