Barclays is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in ACI Base24 Classic to join our team in Pune. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will leverage technology to build and manage robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure, ensuring the seamless delivery of our digital solutions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, develop, and improve software solutions utilizing various engineering methodologies.
- Deliver high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements, devise strategies, and ensure seamless integration.
- Participate in code reviews, promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and contribute to fostering technical excellence.
- Adhere to secure coding practices and implement effective unit testing.
**Required Skills and Experience:**
- Proficiency in TAL/COBOL/SCOBOL/TACL programming languages.
- Strong knowledge of cards and payment domains.
- Hands-on experience with ACI Base24 Classic for ATM and POS transaction processing.
- Experience with ATM and POS transaction processing.
- Familiarity with Visa, BNET & LINK schemes.
- Understanding of EMV and NDC processing.
- Experience with testing simulators such as VersaTest.
- Proficiency in ISO8583 message format.
**Valued Skills:**
- Knowledge of Shadowbase or other replication products.
- Experience with Sanity, SIT, and E2E testing methodologies.
- Experience in test scenario, test plan, and test strategy preparation.
- Working experience with ACI Base24 TSS product.
- Understanding of Active:Active environments and Base24 FHM transactions.
- Experience in project implementation within a banking environment.
- Hands-on experience with MasterCard or VTS simulators.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodology.
- Experience with build tools like Bitbucket or GitLab.
