GE Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Ethos Design System (EDS) team in Bengaluru/Bangalore. As a guardian of trust for our modern web platform, you will be instrumental in ensuring the high-quality delivery of reusable UI components. Your role goes beyond feature testing; you'll meticulously validate every 'Lego block' to guarantee its flawlessness and resilience.
Your expertise in automation and validation will ensure our web components remain reliable across popular frameworks like React, Angular, TypeScript, and Vue.js. Every test you design will be precise, accessible, performant, and validated for consistent integration across components.
About EDS: The Ethos Design System (EDS) is the unified digital platform powering GE HealthCare's global software portfolio. It's a comprehensive library of UI components, design patterns, and accessibility standards that bridge UX and Engineering. EDS empowers hundreds of product teams to eliminate redundant work, enabling them to focus on patient safety by providing intuitive, consistent, and accessible foundational building blocks.
Your Responsibilities: * Design, develop, and maintain robust automation test suites using Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript) and BrowserStack. * Ensure cross-browser and cross-device consistency of EDS components. * Conduct comprehensive functional, performance, and accessibility testing. * Verify adherence to design system standards and UX guidelines. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality releases. * Diagnose and troubleshoot UI rendering issues, providing clear defect documentation. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and tools.
Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field. * 3+ years in Software Quality Assurance, with 1+ years specializing in automation engineering. * Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript with Playwright. * Deep understanding of web components, DOM behavior, and browser rendering. * Skilled in accessibility testing using WCAG guidelines. * Experience validating applications across diverse browsers and screen resolutions. * Proficiency in Agile environments and using tools like Rally. * Exposure to CI/CD and test integration. * Experience testing design systems and reusable UI components. * Preferred: Experience with BrowserStack in CI/CD pipelines and hands-on testing expertise across Angular, React, TypeScript, and Vue.js frameworks.
This role requires flexibility to work with leadership in the United States (Central Time), ensuring significant overlap for strategic planning and reviews.
