Join Akamai's Bot & Abuse Protection Engineering team and contribute to safeguarding the world's largest digital properties from automated threats. As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will collaborate with a global team to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of cutting-edge security and platform technologies operating at massive scale. You will design and implement test strategies, create automated frameworks, and validate distributed systems. This role involves partnering closely with developers, QA, release engineers, architects, and program managers to deliver high-quality software reliably. Responsibilities include participating in design reviews, developing and maintaining automated test suites (functional, integration, load, performance), creating test strategies for new features, building and improving automation infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, and identifying/resolving defects. This position requires 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering or SDET roles, expertise in Java or Python, and hands-on experience with UI automation tools like Cypress or Selenium WebDriver. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, HTTP/HTTPS, SQL databases, and debugging is essential.
