Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Software Engineering

Join JPMorgan Chase as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) within our Employee Platforms Team. You will be an integral part of an agile team focused on enhancing, designing, and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products. As an emerging SRE, you'll contribute to software solutions by designing, developing, and troubleshooting multiple components of technical products, applications, and systems. **Key Responsibilities:**

• Design and implement highly available, scalable AWS infrastructure in partnership with development teams.
• Architect applications for reliability, fault tolerance, and resilience across services and regions.
• Automate deployments, scaling, and operational tasks using scripting and tooling.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for consistent environment provisioning and management.
• Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting for proactive issue detection and rapid response.
• Respond to incidents, coordinate remediation, and minimize downtime.
• Conduct post-incident reviews, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
• Analyze performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize throughput, latency, and resource utilization.
• Enforce security best practices and collaborate with security teams for compliance.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable, automated deployments and rollbacks.
• Document architectures, configurations, and runbooks, and train partner teams.

**Required Qualifications:**

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
• Demonstrated experience as an Application SRE or in a closely related role.
• Deep understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Ruby.
• Experience building and operating containerized workloads with Docker and orchestration.
• Experience with application performance monitoring and log analysis tools.
• Understanding of security practices and compliance for cloud-hosted applications.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience operating CI/CD pipelines with platforms such as Jenkins.
• Experience with monitoring and visualization tools (AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) and log management (ELK).

**Preferred Qualifications:**

• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
• Experience architecting and operating serverless workloads with AWS Lambda.
• Experience with application-level security best practices (authentication, authorization, secrets management).
• Experience using AWS managed services for databases, caching, and messaging.
