The Alexa Smart Home Cameras team is looking for an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to contribute as both an individual contributor and technical lead. This role is instrumental in enabling Alexa with visual awareness in customers' homes, powering innovative experiences like 'Alexa, show the front door' and ambient features such as automatic announcements triggered by event detection (person, package, doorbell). We develop a comprehensive suite of APIs for 1st and 3rd party partners (e.g., Ring, Blink) to integrate and enhance their camera capabilities. Our technology stack spans Computer Vision, media streaming, real-time communication, and the Alexa app, serving end-consumers who want simplified smart home camera experiences and developers of leading devices like Ring, Arlo, Nest, and Wyze.
As a Software Development Engineer on the Cameras team, you will lead the technical direction for camera customer experiences on Echo and FireTV devices. You will collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary teams to design, implement, and launch innovative products and features. Key responsibilities include developing the technical roadmap and strategy for camera product initiatives, securing buy-in for technical vision internally and with external partners, and building reliable, high-performance applications for various Amazon devices. You will also mentor engineers, provide technical leadership, and foster a high-performing team environment.
