As a Principal Software Engineer on the Customer Experience Engineering (CXE) team, you will be a key technical leader responsible for the architecture, reliability, and evolution of critical platforms and applications. You will work across services, data pipelines, and applications to enhance customer environment understanding, proactively detect issues, and drive data-informed customer interactions.
In this role, you will:
- **Set Technical Direction:** Define and evolve the architecture for CXE's core services, data pipelines, and applications, focusing on robustness, scalability, cost-efficiency, and developer productivity. Drive design decisions for systems handling large volumes of diagnostic and support data.
- **Lead High-Impact Initiatives:** Own and deliver multi-quarter, cross-team projects from inception to operation, taking end-to-end responsibility for critical paths in our customer experience stack to ensure high availability, low latency, and excellent data quality.
- **Champion Engineering Excellence:** Promote best practices in design, testing, observability, performance, and incident response. Proactively identify and address technical debt and operational risks.
- **Collaborate Across Teams:** Partner closely with Product Management, TPMs, Support, and other Engineering teams to define requirements, validate trade-offs, and deliver pragmatic solutions. Coordinate work effectively across different teams and time zones.
- **Lead Through Influence & Mentorship:** Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, fostering growth through context sharing, frameworks, and feedback. Actively participate in recruiting and developing talent, contributing to a strong engineering culture.
- **Support Critical Needs:** Leverage deep system understanding to troubleshoot complex production issues, guide incident response, and ensure continuous improvement. Help define and refine SLOs and operational dashboards.
