Senior Software Engineer - Java, AWS, AI

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our agile team within the CONSUMER & COMMUNITY BANKING division. In this role, you will design and deliver secure, stable, and scalable market-leading technology products, addressing critical technology solutions across various business functions to meet firm objectives.

You will execute software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical challenges using innovative approaches. Responsibilities include creating high-quality, secure production code and maintaining synchronized algorithms. You will produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring development aligns with design constraints. Analyzing and synthesizing data to improve software applications and systems, and proactively identifying issues to drive coding hygiene and system architecture enhancements are key. You will also contribute to software engineering communities and explore emerging technologies, fostering a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Develop secure AI tooling (identity, secrets, egress controls, logging/audit) for safe enterprise use of copilots and LLM services.
• Create AI-assisted SDLC golden paths, including prompt/playbook libraries, repo templates, CI quality gates, policy checks, and reference implementations.
• Manage LLMOps for shared services, covering model/service selection, cost controls, SLOs, observability, incident runbooks, and change management.
• Implement RAG and knowledge integration patterns as a reusable platform capability for applications.
• Ensure AI governance alignment for platform offerings, including data classification, retention, model risk considerations, and approved usage patterns.

**Required Qualifications:**

• 3+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
• Proficiency in Java programming and coding.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Solid grasp of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes in areas like cloud, AI, or machine learning.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

• Proficiency in Java programming and Spring Boot, Microservices.
• Experience with AWS (EC2, EKS, S3).
• Strong experience with relational databases and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, DynamoDB).
• Experience with Kubernetes and Kafka.
