Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive innovation in automation and AI/ML solutions. In this role, you will lead moderately complex initiatives, contribute to strategic planning, and design, develop, test, debug, and document software for various projects. You will tackle challenging technical issues, collaborate with peers and management to find solutions, and act as a mentor and escalation point for less experienced staff.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and enhancing .NET Core / C# / Python utilities and automation solutions for Wholesale Operations.
- Building and consuming REST APIs and integrating systems.
- Designing, developing, testing, and documenting lightweight, fit-for-purpose tools.
- Supporting and enhancing intelligent automation platforms (e.g., Xceptor) for reconciliation, workflow, and exception handling.
- Partnering with operations and product teams to identify automation opportunities and implement pragmatic AI/ML or GenAI solutions.
- Contributing to automation capabilities across the development pipeline, including scripting, integrations, and workflow enhancements.
- Leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve development speed and code quality.
- Working in an Agile / iterative delivery model and participating in code reviews.
- Supporting production issues and mentoring junior engineers.
We are looking for candidates with strong hands-on experience in .NET Core / C# / Python, front-end development with React, REST API development, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience with AI/ML or GenAI for automation, LLM-based solutions, and cloud environments (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP acceptable) is highly desirable. Familiarity with intelligent automation platforms like Xceptor and working in an Agile environment are essential. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills are required.
