Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a highly experienced Staff Engineer with a focus on Automotive Video Software. This role requires a deep understanding of multimedia domains, including video, display, graphics, and camera technologies, with a strong emphasis on video codecs (H264, H265, VP9, HEVC, AV1) and video technologies (Gstreamer, Codec2, V4l2, Android multimedia framework, FFMEG, DRM). You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining video features on Qualcomm SOCs, supporting multi-core ARM/CPUs and hypervisor systems, and debugging secure video playback issues. A key aspect of this role involves optimizing power and performance specifically for automotive applications, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Essential skills include extensive experience in Linux embedded systems, strong C/C++ programming, and hands-on experience in Linux kernel programming, Linux memory management, and Linux device drivers. Experience with memory management flows and buffer optimizations is crucial for performance improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong kernel and user-space debugging skills, including experience with JTAG or ICE debuggers, and a motivated, self-starter attitude with excellent communication skills.
