Qube Cinema is seeking a Senior Systems Software Engineer with over 6 years of experience and deep expertise in Go (Golang) to join our team in India. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance software for our large-scale edge appliances deployed in theatre networks. This role demands a strong background in distributed systems, system-level programming, storage management, and performance optimization, particularly in challenging environments characterized by network variability and hardware constraints.
Your responsibilities will encompass core development of Go services for content download, validation, and duplication on edge devices, ensuring reliability even with intermittent connectivity. You will tackle complex debugging challenges across distributed appliance ecosystems and engage in edge appliance and system-level engineering, optimizing disk I/O, file handling, and storage utilization for large media files. Experience with file systems like XFS, ZFS, and EXT4, along with ensuring system stability during OS upgrades and hardware variations, will be crucial.
Furthermore, you'll contribute to building and maintaining distributed systems for our 10K+ fleet, focusing on efficient content distribution, synchronization, and data consistency. Integration with AWS services such as S3, EC2, and CloudFront for data transfer pipelines and secure content delivery will be a key aspect. You will also drive performance and reliability engineering by monitoring and tuning system resources, identifying bottlenecks, and building self-healing systems. Automation and observability through logging, metrics, alerting, and CI/CD integration using Go, Python, or Shell scripting will be essential for fleet-wide visibility and robust releases.
We are looking for candidates with a proven track record in Go development, a solid understanding of operating systems, file systems, and storage, and hands-on experience with distributed systems at scale. Strong debugging skills in production and distributed environments and practical experience with AWS are required.
